Pure working with HS2

Pure have carried out two large schemes in support of the HS2 project for two separate clients, both for the rail route between London and Birmingham.

One was to provide a facility to manufacture ‘Green Tunnels’ which are precast concrete tunnel segments laid in the ‘cut and cover’ method of the rail route where the ‘cut’ tunnels are subsequently covered and then planted with trees, shrubs and grasses.

The other facility constructed by Pure was for the manufacture of precast concrete bridge beams for the scheme, some of which are nearly 40m long. To accommodate this the building, which was 365m long, contained 4No. travelling cranes which extended 40m outside the line of the building and 2No. travelling cranes operate in the storage area. Each bridge section delivery will require a specialist transport escort and careful route planning to its destination given the size of some of these beams.’
